15 out of 5 Star Review - Just returned from staying a week at Spruce Creek Campground. We broke down upon arrival. It is very remote but peace and quiet abounds. We cannot say enough about Mr Craig, Mr Clisby, Ms Rose, Mr Emmett, Ms Dorothy and the others whom we did not catch their names. These people are the best. Checked on us in the mornings and evenings. Told us where to go to get parts, provided directions, offered to help in any way they could. I could go on with more, but words are not enough. Genuine and sincere folk who are a pleasure. Mr Clisby who is the Superintendent is cute on his electric bike which is a must see for any lady. Cabwaylingo State Park is nice, but the employees are the real treat. We will be back. We thank you for everything Weve traveled for many years and have never been treated so well. WV Forestry can be proud of all of them.
Campsite reservations - The info re campsite reservations is incorrect.
to make online reservations and learn about camping and other features at Cedar Creek State Park.
A great place to spend a few days - I had a great time at Summervilles Lake
The water is so clean, you can see all the way down in the depths where visibility is still very impressive and makes scuba diving that much more exciting
Great Place To Escape - Kanawha State Forest is a great place to camp, mountain bike and hike.
--The pool has been closed for years. The headquarters/gift shop are now in the former pool complex.
--There are at least twice as many trails as mentioned here.
--A wheelchair-accessible playground has been added next to the Spotted Salamander Trail.
Best vacations - My parents took my brother and sister and myself for three day getaways to lake cacapon back in the late 50s and early 60s these were some of my greatest memories of that time I hope cacapon last forever
Beautiful Park! Wonderful Service! - My family and i stayed in one of the Cabins. It was in a beautiful location on a hill, and spotless! We saw raccoons, deer, and chipmunks up close. We cooked on the grill and spent quality time together enjoying the wilderness. We are looking forward to going back. This is a great place to go and unwind!
Childhood memory - I picnicked in this park about 55 years ago at a family reunion. Even as a young teenager I was impressed by the massive pine trees. It was absolutely lovely. I only wish my health allowed me to return, but at least I have my memories to treasure. This park is a must see. Make the effort. It .is well worth it.
