This 64-acre state historic site preserves the remains of a once-fortified Indian village, which also was an important ceremonial center. Indians of the Mississippian Culture inhabited the site between 1000 A.D. and 1400 A.D. A kiosk with exhibits interprets the history and significance of this important Mississippian archaeological site.

From Jefferson City : Travel east on U.S. Hwy. 54 to Kingdom City. Take I-70 east to Exit 210A/U.S. Hwy. 41/61/Kirkwood/Forest Park. Take U.S. Hwy. 40 east to Exit 25/I-270/Chicago/Memphis; merge onto I-270 south and continue for about 11 miles. Take Exit 1B-A/I-55/St. Louis/Memphis and head south on I-55.
