This mountain resort is named for the legendary pioneer woman, Jenny Wiley. Taken captive by Indians in 1789, Wiley endured the slaying of her brother and children and escaped after 11 months of captivity. Imagine our heroine eluding her captors as you hike the trails that weave through the wilderness.

Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is sure to offer something for everyone. With both 1,100-acre Dewey Lake and an Olympic-size swimming pool, the park is a water lover's paradise. If swimming, fishing or boating isn't your style, consider taking in a Broadway-style show at the popular Jenny Wiley Theatre.

Enjoy the great outdoors in the 117-site campground. Utility hookups, two central service buildings with showers and rest rooms, a grocery store, and a dump station are available for your convenience.

Open April 1-October 31. Pets are allowed if restrained.

Cottages

For private accommodations, enjoy a one or two-bedroom cottage. Tableware, cooking utensils, and linens are provided, with fresh linens available daily.

Cottages are available by late afternoon. Check-out by 11:00 AM.

The trails provide over ten miles of hiking for all ability levels.The Jenny Wiley Trail Heritage Byway embraces a 154-mile loop drive in Eastern Kentucky. Jenny Wiley is a showplace for the performing arts! The Jenny Wiley Theatre presents summer musicals in the parks amphitheatre. In 2004, "Wizard of Oz", "Big River", & "Driving Miss Daisy" were presented.

December 9 Weekend getaway by Allen and LIsa

We made reservations for a lodge room but was upgraded to a cabin. It was clean just outdated. We enjoyed our stay it was very quiet and peaceful. I missed the internet in the cabin but it was worth the time alone with my husband.

May 2 Not So Pleasant by Wilson Family

The condition that we found the cottage. 1) We could not grill out because the grill was rusted and was on the ground 2) There were used cleenex on the floor in the beedroom 3) The TV in the living room was not working, and when we requested a replacement, it too was malfunctioning. 4) The bathroom was ill equipped with necessities (toilet paper) and the toilet holder was off the wall and on the sink. 5) My wife commented that the reception staff became irritated when she asked for directions. When we checked out, no one asked how our stay was.

It is a wonderful park! Quiet, calm place to be, with wonderful hosts. And very clean!

October 28 lake shore trail a mess by rick and karen

just came back this past weekend and have to agree with the previous review, our room was not ready so we took the lake side trail, all I can say is pitiful, the garbage made us almost leave and go find another place to stay, other than that, our stay was fine, food good at the lodge, and the othe trails were better, will we be back? probally not as the red river gourge is close to our home and we enjoy the hiking there, dont let this review turn you away from jenny wiley, if you like to hike just dont do the lake side trail. it is a charming park, the flea market in prestonburg is a hoot!

October 6 Great lodge and dining.

Lodge and food were great. Took a hike on the lakeshore trail and was disgusted. Trash everywhere. Lots and lots of plastic oil jugs, bottles and cans. Appear to be from the boaters. Beautiful area was ruined. Clean this mess up.

July 9 Our favorite place to camp by The Elam Family

Jenny Wiley is a great place to spend time with your family. It is a quiet place and very clean! My family loves it, we look forward to going every summer.
